DobberNet - irc.dobber.net

DobberNet is a network made in memory of Dobber. Dobber was the ideal image of a human. Always helping. On October 10th 1997 Dobber was killed in a car wreck. To which we created DobberNet, a network to kind of recreate his way, and his spirit. His family live here on DobberNet (Dobro - Loving Brother, and DaKeeper - Loving Father of Dobber). We try to help users to our maximum extent as would Dobber. In which we hope to make users feel safe.

Rules:

Harassment, D.o.S (Denial of Services, e.g. Nuking), child pornography, and warez (illegal software pirating) are not allowed on DobberNet. All will be closed by the DobberNet chan-committee.

Takeovers, flooding, wars, etc that are reported to ircops will be delt with on the spot, and resolved. Admins have the last say. If you do not like a decision made by a admin, type /msg HelpServ listadmin and contact one of the 4 officers.

With that out of the way, the DobberNet Staff would like to say, Stay kewl, and have fun chatting.

About us:

Our ircd has the +v command so to hide ip addresses in which reduces nuking and other denial of service attacks. Although there are other ways to get the ip address (the address to which your computer is known to the internet), we are working as fast as we can to fix those problems. Our main network server (dobbernet.dynip.com) is hosted on a T1, running slakware linux. Our server staff is as follows:

Network Administrator: Dobro ( [email protected])

Services Administrator: Raz0r ([email protected])

Co-Administrator: DaKeeper (e-mail address not available)

Yes, our administration staff is rather small, but we are also taking more time to stay organized, and to do things right. We don't want to be just another irc network. : )

Linking:

If you wish to link with us, please e-mail [email protected] with information about your server (speed, location, operating system, what you can give to us to benefit, and why you want to link with us.) On that note, we will not accept any servers below T1. Please also include how many ircops you have, and an estimated population of users on your server. Also be sure to include who your server administrator and a valid e-mail address in which the administrator can be contacted. That is all we ask for.
